You're running on empty, and you don't even know it.
Life handed you a change you didn't ask for. Or maybe you chose it—new job, ended relationship, relocated, became a parent. Either way, you're navigating unfamiliar terrain, making decisions that matter, and something feels... off.
You're making it work. But you're exhausted.
What if I told you there's a reason for that?
The Fred Metaphor
Meet Fred. Fred is your life battery—the energy that powers everything you do, feel, and become.
You were born with Fred fully charged. Since then, he's been draining. Some days recharge him a bit. Other days bleed him dry. And like any battery, Fred has a lifespan—you just don't know what it is, or if yours came with a defect.
Here's the problem: Most people leak Fred without realizing it.
They spend energy on:
Values they inherited but never chose
Relationships that drain more than they give
Work that misaligns with who they actually are
Expectations from people who don't live their life
And when change hits—wanted or unwanted—the leak becomes a flood.
You feel it as:
Overwhelm and indecision
Exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix
A sense that you're living someone else's life
The nagging question: "Is this all there is?"
That's Fred telling you something's wrong.
Why Most Approaches Don't Work
Self-help books tell you to "think positive" and "set goals." That's all mental game—it ignores what Fred is screaming at you emotionally.
Motivational speakers pump you up for a week, then you crash back to baseline.
Therapy helps you process the past, but doesn't always give you a method for navigating what's next.
You don't need more information. You need a framework for intentional living.
How makeUabetterU Works
I've developed a six-step framework that helps you:
Evaluate your current values - Not what you inherited, but what you actually believe matters
Define themes for your purpose - Connect your values to actionable direction
Assess your influences - Emotional, Mental, Physical, Social, Environment—what's charging or draining Fred?
Measure the impact - Understand what's leaking your battery vs. what's worth the drain
Review when change happens - Life shifts constantly; your alignment needs regular check-ins
Repeat - This isn't one-and-done; it's a navigation system for life
This framework does two things:
First, it makes you aware. You can't fix what you can't see.
Second, it creates a decision point: Can you navigate this alone, or do you need guidance?
The Choice
Some people read this framework and successfully apply it themselves. If that's you, excellent—go protect your Fred.
But here's what I've learned after years of coaching: Emotional awareness is hard to build alone.
You can't see your own blind spots. You rationalize away the gaps between your stated values and actual behavior. You skip the uncomfortable questions because no one's there to ask them.
That's where coaching comes in.
Working together means:
An outside perspective that catches what you miss
Accountability when you want to avoid the hard truths
Guidance through the emotional complexity that books can't address
A structured process that adapts to YOUR specific situation
Who This Is For
You're facing transition or change—by choice or by force:
Career shift or job loss
Relationship ending or beginning
Major life milestone (parenthood, empty nest, retirement)
Relocation or upheaval
Burnout and questioning everything
You're emotionally intelligent enough to know something needs to shift, but not sure where to start.
You're tired of surface fixes. You want to understand yourself and navigate life with intention.
You're ready to stop leaking Fred and start spending him wisely.

How long does coaching take? Most clients work with me for 3-6 months. Some need a shorter sprint for a specific transition. Others stay longer for ongoing navigation support.
What if I can't afford coaching? I offer a sliding scale for select clients. Let's talk—if this framework resonates, we'll figure something out.
Can I just use the framework on my own? Absolutely. If you read this and feel equipped to apply it yourself, do it. The framework exists to help people become aware and take action—with or without me.
